Wales Manor Vineyard, established by John Wales in 1999, was the first commercial vineyard in Collin County and the northeastern area of the Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas metroplex. Located adjacent to the city of McKinney, the 3 acre clay and limestone vineyard is used exclusively for Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and Rose Wines. Located on a hill which is one of the highest elevation points in Collin County Texas, Wales Manor Winery & Vineyard has continued its role of supporting the Texas Wine Industry by helping establish additional vineyards in Collin County.
Reserve Cabernet Sauvingnon 2005
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Wales Manor vineyard in Collin County. 100% Wales Manor produced and bottled. Aged in French Oak barrels for 30 months. This Cabernet Sauvignon has a great bold oak flavor with a wonderful finish.
The Picnic Meritage
Garnet/Ruby in color, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), and Merlot (20%), and Petit Verdot (10%), shows the aromas of black cherry, cigar, and limestone with a subtle hint of mint. On the palate this wine is full-bodied with black currant and spice followed by smooth, yet firm tannins. Aged in French Oak barrels for 24 months.
Reserve Merlot 2005
This Merlot is a blend of 75% Red River Merlot (Martin Vineyards in Bonham, Texas) and 25% Wales Manor 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon. All oak aged in barrels for 12 months- only 106 cases bottled.
Sweet Ruby Cabernet
Texas has been producing wonderful wines from this varietal for quite some time. As the name suggest, ruby and violet in color. On the nose are cherry, blackberry and blueberry which continues through to the finish. Medium-bodied with an off dry level of sweetness, this grape was developed in 1949 at UC Davis in California and is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan.
The "Passion" Cabernet Sauvignon Rose 2005
The juice of this wine went through a first pressing, which is where the pink rose color originates. The nose displays gentle hints of strawberries and plum while maintaining light fruit flavors and a zesty acidity on the finish. A perfect companion to hot summer nights.
Reserve Blanc du Bois 2005
This is the first ever vintage of the Reserve Blanc du Bois in Texas! Aged 12 months in French Oak barrels, blended with 12.5% Chardonnay and 12.5% Palomino, this full-bodied white displays aromas of grapefruit, orange blossom and passion fruit. Dry in style, this wine comes across the palate with refreshing acidity and ends with a clean crisp finish and a hint of pineapple. It's a perfect companion to salads, pastas, and light fish dishes. The fruit was sourced from Tanglewood vineyards in the Texas Coastal area. 2007 Lone Star International Wine Competition - Bronze Medalist

WALES MANOR ADRIATICA TO OPEN SUMMER 2010
We are proud to announce expansion plans to Wales Manor. Adriatica, a 300 million dollar project located in McKinney, is a true village and a project unlike any other in the world. The goal is to create a community that in a relatively short period of time replicates villages that have taken centuries to develop. The project involves not only proper architecture and visual design, but also expertise in culture and social interaction. Not just to build but how to arrange the pieces of daily live, from where we live, work, shop and play, to form a cohesive unit. Handrolled Cigars Available!
Cigars have long been used as a compliment to a social glass of wine. Altough is a true that when tasting a wine, no tobacco products should be used; the tobacco inhibits the palate, tongue and cheek from picking up the most subtle characteristics of the wine. However, once one knows a particular wine - a cigar in compliment may add to the enjoyment of the wine. Our cigars are hand rolled by a Cuban born, raised, trained, and experienced cigar roller from Austin, Texas.
Before you choose your cigar from the listed below, please keep in mind that not everyone enjoys second hand smoke. We request that you smoke outside and downwind of fellow patrons. Thank and enjoy!
Wales Manor custom labeled cigars
DOMINICAN ($5.00) This is our signature cigar. Dominican binder and filler crowned with savory Sumatran wrapper. Absolutely smooth and mild with no bitter aftertaste.
CAMEROON MADURO ($6.00) Dominican binder and filter combined with a luscious silky Cameroon wrapper from Africa. This cigar smooth, creamy, rich and mellow with rewarding taste.
CUBAN BLEND ($5.50) Do not let the deep dark Brazilian wrapper intimidate you! This Cuban seeded, Domonican Blended bauty is full of surprises. It is a complex and perfectly constructed with an intriguin flavor that compliments a pleasant aroma and mild taste.
CONNECTICUT SHADE ($5.50) Connecticut wrapper is the most sought after and expressive leaf on the market today. This shade-grown wrapper leaf surrounds a Dominican binder and filler to reveal a lot of flavor. Mild with a touch of peeper.
